I used Photoshop in the beginning. The keyboard shortcuts are kind of the same but you can't save as SVG files in Photoshop and you can't crop files in Illustrator (I got really pissed of about that). The way to copy colors from one file to another in Illustrator was a pain in the ass too, maybe I'm doing it wrong or something. But I think it's just something I have to get used to =/
I see. I have color guides for all the ponies that I have made (and then some) for Illustrator, but since I got Illustrator and Photoshop at the same time I just took to using Illustrator rather than all for Photoshop. And regarding the cropping, to simulate that I just use clipping masks to mimic the groups, though sadly you cant make subgroups in a clipping mask... Though for the vector, I really like it and I also like the fact that you made it huge Keep up the good work.
Thank you, prefer it big (that's what she said) so I made it extra sized up . I use color guides too but I can't just transfer the colors from one file to another, I have to copy the numbers/letters from the color. Maybe I'm doing it wrong =/
I didn't want to fill the comments with this so I just went and made a tutorial for it. Here you are and I really hope it helps. I know how annoying it can be to bring over all of the colors with the hex codes every time you start a new vector as I did that for the first several vectors I made. Cheers to you.
